Q: What is Leh & what is Ladakh?  What is the difference?
A: Ladakh was a region in state of J&K earlier but recently get separated from J&K & become UT. The area is extended from siachin glacier 
Karakoram range to the main Great Himalayas. whereas Leh is a town in leh district of Ladakh region. Its also the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh region.

Q: Best time to visit Leh Ladakh?
A: Ladakh is a beautiful & versatile region where you can find Mountains, streams, snow, sand, rivers, lakes, rare species and all kind of beautiful landscape. It is the only place where you can be hit by frostbite and sunburn at same time.

so it totally depend on you what kind of weather you like.


 End of may - mid of June: If you are a winter lover and like cold and want to see high snow walls and snow clad mountains with fresh snowfall, then this is the best time. you got to be ready for some real adventure and expect the unexpected.

June - Sept: If you are a relax kind of person want to enjoy the landscape & blue sky at an easy pace with little or no hardship then choose this month. Days will be warmer to hot but nights will be cold. In July you will see lot of water logged roads or patches which are sometime fun to cross.Sometime unexpected landslide and cloudburst make the journey adventurous. you can see little bit of snow on the peaks but If you are lucky enough then you can also witness fresh snowfall on high mountain passes.

Sept - oct: With winter knocking on door the cold starts to set in again. All the peaks turn white due to snowfall. All the roads (connecting leh to other parts of India) on high passes start to close down. End of season.
